1. Role Overview
The Project Developer (PD) will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of solar projects, from initial site identification and feasibility through to financial close and the start of construction. This role requires a deep understanding of the renewable energy sector, strong project management skills, and a proven track record of successfully developing solar projects in Japan.

The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills, capable of navigating complex regulatory and commercial landscapes. The Project Developer (PD) supports the full lifecycle of renewable energy projects in Japan, with a focus on solar PV, wind (onshore) and battery.

Working within a collaborative team, this role offers direct exposure to project origination, deal structuring, and stakeholder management across the Japanese renewable energy market. The PD will be expected to grow into a key interface between the company and external development partners, while providing essential administrative and analytical support to senior team members. The role has challenges and the candidate have a positive and can do attitude and apply logical thinking to solve issues.

The PD works with a myriad of Japanese stakeholders and is essential that they are native Japanese or speak fluently like a native Japanese and must be able to read and write in Japanese. In addition, the person must be a natural communicator and able to engage and build strong relationships with stakeholders. They must speak a reasonable level of Business English to enable them to build strong connections and good communication.
