▼Objectives of the Position
・Create technical solutions with BASF products, both existing and new, to help customers achieve success in their markets.
・Develop application technologies to support and promote BASF products to targeted customer groups.
・Work with Sales and Marketing to promote new products, application technologies, and innovative solutions.
・Offer technical support and services to customers.
・Collaborate with R&D, Marketing, and Engineering to develop new products.
・Supervise AT/TS team members, enhance the technical skills of the AT/TS team, and take a lead role in building the technical knowledge and capabilities of the EMB Japan MDT & Sales team.
・Foster a collaborative team culture and show accountability by modeling "winning behaviors."

▼Main Tasks
・Strategic business development leadership: Take a significant leadership role in driving business development by introducing technical possibilities and innovative solutions, engaging local and regional/global teams and leveraging external partners and resources as needed.
・Technical capability building: Develop the technical expertise of the AT/TS team in formulation science, intellectual property (IP) landscape awareness and competitive intelligence. Collaborate with external resources such as academic institutions.
・Customer-centric technical solution development: Work closely with customers to understand pain points, brand design goals, and differentiation criteria. Identify technical needs and develop tailored solutions. Provide prototypes, formulation guides, data, and compelling narratives to support customer decision-making. Assist customers in starting formulation development using BASF products, testing and troubleshooting and receiving analytical and measurement support.
・Market, application technology and new product development: Monitor personal care market trends and ingredient competition. Develop application technologies for BASF products, with emphasis on focus and innovation products. Partner with customers to define success criteria for new products. Engage internal and external stakeholders to scope and define projects and lead or contribute to project execution.
・Commercial Enablement and Promotion: Collaborate with local and regional marketing to create promotional materials and presentations and engage customers with product and solution promotions. Support sales team by providing technical intelligence and data and enhancing the technical capabilities of the sales team.
・People development: Enhance the technical skills of AT/TS team members. Lead efforts to build technical knowledge and capabilities within the EMB Japan MDT & Sales team. Collaborate with the line manager to create a psychologically safe and trustworthy environment where everyone feels comfortable sharing their ideas.
・Facilitators of Two-Way Communication: Adapt and interpret global strategies for local teams, while communicating local insights, achievements, and customer needs with regional and global leaders. Actively develop an internal global network to support customer engagement and team growth.
