The Medical Writer is responsible for creating content for MIMS MedComms print, digital and event solutions that meet the medical communications objectives of our pharma company and healthcare professional partners

Main responsibilities of this position include:

• Utilize scientific knowledge to produce a full spectrum of MedComms content, including manuscripts/publications, symposium highlights, newsletters, detail aids, slide decks, digital content, etc
• Edit MedComms content to ensure scientific accuracy, alignment with the relevant client communications objectives, and quality English language output
• Acquire and maintain a deep scientific understanding of clients' product portfolios to provide strategic advice on marketing solutions
• Liaise with key opinion leaders in faculty management for symposia, roundtables and other meetings across a range of therapeutic areas
• Help facilitate discussions among key opinion leaders in advisory board or expert panel meetings
• Lead/participate in client meetings/teleconferences
• Work together with other members of a key account team in a senior capacity to develop strategic MedComms solutions for clients and deliver these to high standards
• Together with fellow members of a key account team, contribute to business development and growth of accounts
• Together with their manager, provide guidance to junior members of the editorial teams across the region on scientific aspects of assigned accounts, relevant therapy area and market environment
• Work with the MedComms Editorial Manager in coaching junior members of the editorial teams across the region, focusing on imparting core writing, editing, client-engagement and KOL-engagement skills

Key requirements (must have):

• Graduate degree in the sciences (PhD, MSc); healthcare science degree a plus (MD, PharmD, BSc in nursing or allied profession)
• At least 3 years’ experience working for a healthcare communications agency
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills – this is assessed on application
• Team skills
• Sound ability to distill complex science into clear, concise messages
• Good attention to detail
• Familiar with Microsoft Office applications
