Job Responsibilities■■
・Draft, review and negotiate various contracts including equipment sales, purchasing services,
software licensing, subscriptions, confidentiality, data security and other common areas on a daily
basis.
・Provide strategic support and partnership to regional management and operations in Japan and other
jurisdictions as may be assigned, in support of company vision and other objectives.
・ Provide timely and effective legal advice on a wide variety of corporate and commercial legal issues,
including but not limited to commercial law; employment; intellectual property; data security; data
privacy; antitrust law; environmental, health and safety; and product safety.
・Work closely with other legal teams within the legal function, including corporate legal,
employment legal, IP legal and ethics and compliance.
・ Monitor and communicate legal developments in Japan and follow up or escalate as applicable to
ensure business has process to comply.
・Collaborate with stakeholders from other business units on implementation, training and
compliance with respect to contract review and approval processes.
・ Maintain and assist in developing standardized contract templates, clause library, playbooks and
internal knowledge management resources.
・Be a trusted business partner providing timely, thoughtful and helpful responses to requests from
internal clients.
・Counsel internal clients regarding company policies, legal issues, mitigation and risk tolerance.
・Support Lam’s offices, in various locations across Japan, including but not limited to Yokkaichi,
Hiroshima, Kitakami.
・Domestic and international travel may be required.
・Direct reporting line to Director, Global Legal Services.

following qualifications:

・ J.D. or equivalent from a top law school
・ Qualification to practice law in Japan or other civil law jurisdiction, is preferred, but not a
requirement. What is required is a solid knowledge of Japan commercial law and practices.
・5+ years of relevant work experience (private practice + in-house experience preferred), including
demonstrated experience reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts, preferably in a large,
multinational, high-tech company.
・Experience developing standardized contract templates and playbooks preferred.
・Experience with DocuSign Contract Management Solution or comparable contract lifecycle
management tools.
・Work experience at publicly traded high tech multinationals/companies, including experience
interacting with engineers or other technologists, is highly desirable.
