The Compliance Officer is a senior individual contributor role responsible for independently managing key compliance activities for Russell Investments Japan. The role plays a critical part in ensuring adherence to Japanese regulatory requirements and internal policies, while working closely with regional and global Compliance, Legal, HR, and business teams.

Preferred Background, Skills, and Qualifications
・ A minimum of 6 to 10 years of professional experience in compliance within an asset management company (experience of fewer than 5 years is unlikely to meet the requirements for this role).
・ Strong knowledge of Japanese regulatory requirements applicable to asset management and investment funds.
・ Demonstrated experience in reviewing marketing and distribution materials is essential.
・ Experience with regulatory filings and interactions with supervisory authorities is required.
・ Experience in investment guideline monitoring and oversight of outsourced managers is highly desirable.
・ Business-level proficiency in English, with the ability to communicate effectively in writing and participate in discussions with regional and global stakeholders.
・ Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team while maintaining appropriate independence as a compliance professional.
