■Primary Function of Position:
The Cardiac Sales Director plays a critical role in driving identification and adoption of cardiac procedures for the System.
Partnering with marketing, commercial learning, clinical affairs, sales leadership and field sales, the leader will develop and identify a robust cardiac strategy to create Key Opinion Leaders to pioneer and expand the use with cardiac surgical procedures.
This role will both build out and lead team of strategic sales professionals across the country who are focused on providing service and developing cardiac surgeons to enhance their techniques and capabilities to drive the future growth of Intuitive within the cardiac space.
■Roles and Responsibilities
This position has responsibility and authority to:
〇Establish Intuitive as a leader in enabling customers to achieve the Quintuple Aim in Cardiac.
〇Design a program that is scalable in order to build & establish durable cardiac programs.
〇Work towards a phased approach towards cardiac programs, procedures, and product development.
〇Develop and maintain highly technical and clinical expertise with the Surgical System platform and procedures to be positioned as an expert in supporting cardiac surgeons and surgical teams starting with specifically in mitral valve procedures and/or IMA harvest:
・Educate and train Key Opinion Leaders (KOL’s) on the safe and effective use of the Surgical System to improve their robotic surgery techniques and capabilities.
・Lead and develop care teams through training sessions, helping them understand system operations, safety, OR integration, clinical applications and to be effective in pre, intra and postoperative system management.
・Serve as a dedicated resource to KOL’s and surgical teams, providing guidance and insight on the use of the Surgical System through ongoing case support.
・Work with KOL’s and surgical teams to integrate the system at existing customer sites and ensure ongoing commitment to the system.
・Provide basic trouble-shooting and service activities on the Surgical System as needed.
〇Explore the need and utility for future cardiac procedures: AVR, full MIDCAB, TECAB, Ablation, other
〇Identify, hire, train and develop a cardiac sales team to include the position of Cardiac Sales Manager and/or Cardiac Sales Specialists.
〇Partner with local ISJ sales team and management to execute a clinical plan for KOL’s and surgical teams to ensure they are capable of using the system independently within a reasonable time frame
〇Development of a cardiac training pathway, center of excellence program and/or expanded training program.
〇Identify and convert high potential leads in the cardiac space by driving a cardiac training pathway.
〇Provide feedback to region and corporate on potential competitive activity, new procedures in robotic cardiac surgery, and overall, new procedure/product development opportunities in minimally invasive cardiac surgery.
〇Assist with Sales and Marketing development events and collateral to promote system awareness and procedure adoption for cardiac surgery.
〇Identify and support the right product development and procedure goals for cardiac growth strategies.
〇Identify and align on reimbursement strategies as well as pricing models to which are conducive to the customer’s needs.

■Competency Requirements
Competency is based on: education, training, skills and experience. In order to adequately perform the responsibilities of this position the individual must:
・Bachelor’s degree required (preferably in science or business)
・Minimum of 8 years’ experience with minimum of 5 years sales management experience at Director level or higher; preference for experience in healthcare or capital sales.
・Proven success in previous employment indicating high level of sales achievement.
・Proven record of achievement and leadership
・Proven ability to work within and build teams. Demonstrated ability of influence management.
・Excellent interpersonal skills and persuasive communication skills
・Excellent clinical selling skills and ability to build credibility with a highly educated customer base.
・Track record of sales excellence
・Management experience or management career track required.
・Ability to travel up to 60%, dependent upon account distribution.
・Cardiac clinical experience preferred.
