Position summary:
The Senior Medical Manager will be a key member of the Medical Affairs team, supporting The Company’s product portfolio across all stages of the lifecycle. Under the guidance of the Medical Affairs Director and in close cross-functional collaboration, this role will drive the execution of Medical Affairs strategies and contribute to cross-functional initiatives for all The Company products in Japan.

Roles and Responsibilities:
・Identify, initiate, and maintain scientific collaborations and exchanges with external stakeholders – including physicians, genetic counsellors, nurses, pharmacists, scientific experts, educators and investigators – within the assigned therapeutic area.
・Act as the primary The Company external Medical Affairs representative for designated stakeholders, delivering advanced disease and product information and facilitating strategic collaborations aligned with The Company’s strategic goals.
・Independently manage the planning and execution of standalone meetings, sponsored symposia, and advisory boards, including full project and content ownership.
・Attend relevant scientific meetings, perform routine literature reviews, and share insights with the Medical Affairs team to promote collective learning.
・Deliver ongoing disease and product training to internal teams.
・Support activities related to Medical Information and Communication, Medical Education and Training, Investigator-Initiated Studies, and scientific exchange with Key Opinion Leaders.
・Provide assistance for Research and Clinical Development programs as required. Collaborate with the Commercial Organization to ensure medical alignment while upholding compliance with The Company policies, local regulations, and legal requirements.

Professional Work Experience Requirements:
・Proven industry experience in Medical Affairs, with a strong understanding of cross-functional collaboration and scientific engagement
・Demonstrated track record of success within pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, and/or orphan drug companies. Prior experience in the orphan or ultra-orphan drug sector is especially valued.
・Experience thriving in smaller, agile, and entrepreneurial environments, with the ability to operate independently and drive initiatives forward Education

Requirements:
・Advanced biomedical sciences degree
・Medical Doctor (MD) degree, PhD degree or equivalent are plus

Languages:
・Fluency in Japanese and English (speaking and writing)
