■Position Summary:

The CA-Commercial Director is responsible for developing and executing OEM sales and program management activities for Clean Air business. Major elements associated with this position include leading and directing team members to develop and execute Tenneco strategies, successfully launch and manage new programs, drive continuous improvement activity. This position serves as the primary customer interface in Japan for all commercial and program management concerns.

■Major Duties and Responsibilities:

・Supervise Clean Air sales and program management activities.

・Manage team of 15+ employees based in Yokohama, Nagoya offices.

・Lead development of short, midterm and long term strategic and tactical plans

・Lead Tenneco’s strategic initiative to expand business with Japanese OEMs globally.

・Coordinate global customer plans and communication activities as necessary to achieve organizational results.

・Develop and execute an annual operating plan and budget for sales and program management departments. Coordination with all global Business Units is required.

・Provide commercial and program management liaison between Tenneco Japan and the rest of the Tenneco organization, customers.

・Lead global customer relationship management.

・Serve as the lead negotiator for Tenneco during difficult or senior level negotiations on commercial or program management issues.

・Communicate Tenneco’s position on critical commercial and program management issues to the customers.

・Supervise customer quotation development and negotiations.

・Lead total value management activities for all programs and other sales activities.

・Ensure plans to achieve key customer deliverables including annual cost reduction targets, delivered part quality, program milestones and warranty.

・Ensure accountability and adherence to the NPIS process for launching new projects and executing customer engineering changes. Be accountable for successful program management and launch activity.

・Manage and implement BOS, lean and continuous improvement activity for the customer account.

・Lead the development and implementation of local sales and program management capabilities and related process.

・Coach, develop, guide and provide consultation for employees regarding work related issues.

・Manage and administer all performance alignment objectives, individual development plans and training requirements with each direct report.

■Minimum Qualifications:

・Proven tracking record in commercial/business with a tier 1 supplier.

・Minimum 10 years working experience in commercial/program management.

・People/Organization management skill.

・High level strategic thinking to build senior relationship with CA customers.

・Business Level English communication skill is a must.

・Bachelor’s degree from a four year college or university.

・Experience in financial & technical business negotiations.

・Ability to work flexible hours including early morning / late night conference calls.

・Domestic and international travel required.

・Excellent team management skill.
